Linux users and Agile programmers,

and Executive Director of Open Source Office at Comcast
- Thu 3/18/2021, 3:15–5pm, plus virtual Happy Hour via Gather

Linux is 30 years old. Even if don’t use it as your primary OS, it’s all around you. It powers the vast majority of web sites, cloud services, embedded devices, WiFi routers, IoT devices, Docker containers, etc. It’s everywhere.

3:15–4pm is about Chariot Solutions and how they’ve used Linux and Open Source on various software projects for almost 20 years. Knowing Aaron, Ken, and Tracey, and how good a job they do with the Philly ETE conference (Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise) each year, I’m guessing this will be informative and intriguing. Lots of good ideas, not just a sales pitch for Chariot. BTW, you should also sign up for ETE. I attend every year.

4–5pm is a “fireside chat” with Nithya Ruff, chair of the Linux Foundation Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Open Source Office at Comcast. It’ll be interesting to hear directly from the horse’s mouth. And since Comcast is local (and Chariot too), anyone looking for a job…

The chat is hosted by Ken Rimple, who’s great at that sort of thing. He’s been doing podcasts with IT superstars for over 13 years. Listen to them at:

You’ll also like the signboard someone captured, saying:
“Astronauts use Linux because you can’t open Windows in space”
See it and a couple of others at the humor page I just created.
Mostly really old stuff so far, but check back as I add more:
